The North Fond du Lac School District began implementing iPads in the K-12 Classroom during the 2011-12 school year. Prior to the school year, the district technology team reviewed devices, budgets, strategies, staff development needs, implementation, management and ongoing goals. Superintendent Aaron Sadoff will share how the district came to their decision and steps taken to ensure effective implementation of the iPads in the K-12 classrooms, beginning with staff use. The North Fond du Lac School District worked with Marian University Assistant Professor Jenna Linskens for staff development, ongoing training and successful integration of the iPads from a personal device to a classroom tool to improve student learning and engagement. The presenters will share how working together they have taken the road less traveled and increased student learning, classroom management, and teacher training through the use of iPads. Examples of iPad Applications and Uses will be shared, classroom & district management of the devices from an IT perspective will be presented, as well as an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and obtain answers and information to assist in their own implementation of the iPad in their educational setting.

Attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of the integration of iPads in their own educational setting, including the struggles and successes experienced by a school district located in east-central Wisconsin.

Presenters will share how through leadership and vision they were able to implement the iPad in the North Fond du Lac School District including short and long-term district goals. Presenters will discuss the decision process, budget, management and staff development needed to integrate iPads.
